The Ottawa Chamber recently journeyed to the Amalfi Coast in Italy with 22 travelers. We toured the cities of Sorrento, Naples and Salerno, the Island of Capri and enjoyed the ancient ruins at Paestum and Pompeii. The excursion ended in Rome where we visited Saint Paul’s Square, the Sistine Chapel, and the ruins of the Colosseum.
The travel opportunities the Chamber provides allows Midwesterners to learn and appreciate other cultures and different societies. The trip permits us to expand our thought processes and to look at our world both differently and similar at the same time. Travel to other countries and cultures bring to mind the John F. Kennedy quote, “Our most basic common link is that we all inhabit this planet. We all breathe the same air. We all cherish our children’s future. And we are all mortal.”
